Eyelash Extensions FAQ
What is the Eyelash Extension process?
Eyelash extensions are individual synthetic lashes that are bonded to your natural lash with a durable medical grade adhesive. There are many choices of patterns, curl and length to create a custom look for each client. Eyelash extensions are weightless and carefree. Choosing a well trained professional to perform your service is important so that the correct placement and method is used to prevent any damage to your natural lash.
How long do they last?
The bond can last up to 5 weeks but most people will need a fill after about 3 weeks because of new growth and shedding of natural lashes.
How do I take care of them?
Eyelash extensions are very easy to care for. For the first 24 hours the lashes must remain dry but after that you can swim, sun or play sports. Wearing eyeliner and eye shadow is fine as long as you remove it with oil free eye makeup remover. Also do not use an eyelash curler, it is not needed and could possibly damage your extensions and natural lashes. Mascara is not needed, however if you occasionally want to wear it on the tips, oil free eye makeup remover is recommended.
How do I get started?
Allow about 2 hours for your initial appointment for a full set of eyelashes. Arrive with clean makeup free eyes and allow a few minutes to discuss the look you want with your technician. If contacts are worn, it’s advisable to bring your lens case and take them out for the procedure. Very few people have sensitivities to the adhesive but if your unsure, a test patch is available. You will lie flat with neck and lumbar support and keep your eyes closed for the duration of the procedure.
Will this harm my natural lash?
Eyelash extensions that are correctly fitted to your natural lash will not weigh down or pull out your natural lash. The technician must correctly size and separate your lash extensions so there is no stress or damage. The general rule is that the extension can only be about 1/3 longer than your natural lash.
Will they look fake?
No! They will be artfully applied in a pattern decided on in your consultation. Most people choose black but brown is available for a softer look. They will enhance and open your eyes like you never dreamed possible!!!
